Ram vs Raavan — A Battle in Burning Lanka

Find your footing. Read the attack. Choose the arrow that changes the fight.

An arrow volley crosses the courtyard. You duck behind a stone wall, wait for it to pass, then leap onto a ledge and draw your bow. Across the rooftops, ten crowned heads turn toward you. Raavan is already preparing his next attack.

Ram vs Raavan is our Dussehra game: a free, single-player battle across burning Lanka, playable in your browser with a keyboard or touch controls. You play as Ram through three encounters, learning when to move, when to take cover, and when to spend your astra energy.

A familiar Lanka, a different battle

If you have played Lanka Dahan, the glowing palaces and night sky will feel familiar. This time the action centres on a duel. Ledges offer a new firing angle; stone walls give you a moment to recover your position. The crackle of fire stays beneath the bow shots, impacts and rush of a narrowly avoided weapon.

Cover works for both sides. A wall that blocks Raavan’s arrows also blocks yours. Jump onto it or use a higher ledge to open a line of fire. When Ram stops at a wall, jump to cross it or move back into space.

Ram’s bow and astras

The bow is your main weapon. Astras add a choice: use your energy to press an attack, or save it for a dangerous wave. These are the weapons and effects as they work in this game.

Bow and charged arrow

In Manual mode, hold J or the Bow button to draw, then release to fire. A longer draw produces a stronger charged arrow, which can also intercept incoming projectiles. Ordinary arrows let you keep pressure on Raavan while you save energy for an astra.

Agneya: the fire arrow

Agneya sends a powerful, fiery shot toward Raavan and can cut through enemy projectiles along its path. It is a good choice when you have a clear shot and want to make an opening count. It still needs a path past the stone walls.

Garuda: the serpent counter

When serpent arrows fill the arena, Garuda clears those already in flight. A successful serpent counter briefly stuns Raavan and restores some energy, giving you a chance to strike while his defence is open. Timing matters: wait for the serpents to appear before casting.

Agneya and Garuda each cost 30 energy. Accurate hits, projectile interceptions and near misses help refill the meter. Watch the named astra beside your energy so you know what the next cast will do.

Brahma: the final arrow

In the third battle, ordinary attacks bring Raavan to the threshold of defeat. The game then announces that the Brahma weapon is ready. Press K or tap Astra to release the final arrow. This finishing weapon passes through cover.

What Raavan sends back

Raavan’s attacks demand different responses. Read the warning at the top of the arena and move before the attack arrives.

Three battles to learn the rhythm

The Gates of Lanka introduces volleys, spears and the value of cover. The Burning Battlements adds serpent attacks and burning ledges, making Garuda a useful answer. The Ten-Headed King brings faster attacks, weapon rain and the final Brahma arrow.

You do not need to stay beside Raavan to win. Use the space between attacks to reposition, look for a clear shot, and keep enough energy for the next serpent wave. Progress saves locally after each victory.

Choose controls that suit you

On phones, Assisted mode is the default. Slide on the movement pad to move left or right. Ram fires ordinary arrows automatically when he has a clear shot. Your action buttons are Jump, Dodge and the named Astra. The game selects Garuda while serpents are flying, Agneya otherwise, and Brahma when the finisher is ready. You choose when to cast.

On desktop, Manual mode is the default. Move with A/D or the arrow keys; jump with Space, W or Up; dodge with L or Shift. Hold and release J for the bow. Click a weapon in the astra bar, or press 1 for Agneya and 2 for Garuda. Q cycles between them; K casts the selected weapon.

The Menu lets you change between Assisted and Manual, adjust touch button size, and mirror the touch layout. Mirroring puts movement on the right and action buttons on the left. It does not reverse the arena or movement directions. Both portrait and landscape play are supported.

A Dussehra challenge

For this Dussehra, we wanted the victory to feel earned through patience: noticing a warning, choosing a counter, and waiting for the right opening. The illustrated characters, rooftop arena and short encounters bring that idea into a game you can pick up for a few minutes.

Take your bow into Lanka. Three battles await.
