One of India's most revered Hanuman temples, founded by the poet-saint Goswami Tulsidas in the 16th century. Devotees believe Lord Hanuman appeared to Tulsidas at this spot, and that sincere prayer here dissolves life's deepest troubles — sankat. The temple also hosts the celebrated Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh, a century-old classical music festival held each April.
